Quick Loan? Don’t Trip Over Your Own Feet

Everyone knows there are a plethora of quick loan internet scams out there waiting to get their hands on your information in order to exploit it. If everyone knew about all the scams and knew how to avoid them the scammers wouldn’t make any money and would have find a new game to play. Unfortunately they do work and the evidence is the fact that they are still out there.

Everyday I get the spam emails about some old lady in some country whose husband just died leaving her a bazillion dollars that she can’t spend so she needs my bank account to help transfer it out of her country and I will get to keep half of it. DUH! Do people really buy into that? Yes, the fact that I keep getting them tells me this. If a commercial selling a product doesn’t sell the product the marketing team immediatly trashes it and begins to re-think the next one. If the commercial does indeed sell the product the marketers will run it over and over again… until it stops producing sales. This is common practice. Each time I get one of those blatant email scams I have to shake my head because I realize it must be working.

People looking for quick cash loans are subject to the many scam tactics floating about. Big smile, nice suit, knife in hand behind the back. If a loaning “institution” asks you for a processing fee up front, go into red alert. This is the ever famous advanced fee scam. They say they need a bit of cash up front for processing because instant cash loans require certain procedures to expedite the process. These loans are quick because they get pushed up the queue and this requires a little investment. Sure, right, you betcha. NOT.

Or, perhaps the instant loan requires that the funds be withdrawn from a foreign account which, (drum roll)…. needs some money up front to to get it across the border. How about the one where you have to pay the driver who is transporting the armored car across the border, and the tolls at the border, and a sandwich for the poor guy after driving the armored car across the tolled border. I am not making this up, well, maybe the sandwich part but you better believe this happens.

There are a lot of elderly people who are in need of these types of money loans. They are familiar with much simpler times when the scams were not as rampant and the scammers not as tech savvy or as bold. Many people will trust someone based on a pleasant speaking voice, a nice suit, or a professional looking website. These scam tactics work and they work quite well.

People who are in a hurry and need quick loans need to be aware, over cautious, even a little paranoid because it may well be worth it. Use the internet to search out the company for reviews or warnings. Check for a listing with the Better Business Bureau. Everyone needs a little help now and then, just don’t be in too much of a hurry and find yourself tripping over your own feet.
