How to Finance the Computer You Want

Most people want to have a computer of some sort but the problem is that they can end up being quite expensive.  Especially if you don’t have a lot of money to pay for it.  Some people simply want the computer they have their heart set on and will look at all the different ways to be able to afford to pay for it.

Rent To Own

Renting a computer to eventually own it is certainly one option however it’s perhaps one of the most expensive.  You really need to factor this into your calculations when buying a computer.  Basically you rent the computer by paying a weekly or monthly fee and after x amount of time you will own the computer and you will no longer need to keep paying for the rental.  Normally renting a computer is good for those who only need it for a short time however if you want to own your computer you’d be better off looking at other options.

Layaway

This is a system which used to be very popular but went out of fashion.  Now because of the recession and the fact that so many people are worried about getting into debt they are buying their computer (and many other items) on layaway.  What happens is that you tell the store that you want to buy the computer on layaway and then you start to make regular payments.  It’s only when you pay the computer off that you actually receive it.

No Credit Checks

People with bad credit who want to buy a computer often search for computer financing with no credit check.  You may well find that this is a good option however if there’s no credit check carried out it’s assumed you have bad credit therefore the financing terms aren’t going to be very favourable.  Basically you will pay a higher rate of interest than if you had good credit and a credit check was carried out.

Financing From Retailers

Many companies who sell computers offer computer financing and repayment plans.  This is so they can sell the computer to you much easier.  Often you will have to pay high interest rates and other times you won’t.  It really depends on which company you go with.  The likes of QVC do very good easy pay options on buying a computer however you might have to wait a while for them to stock a computer you really want.

So if you really have your heart set on a new computer you should look at all the different options you have to hand.  Make sure you know exactly how much you will end up spending and what hidden charges are involved.  You might be better off just waiting until you are able to afford to buy the computer outright.
